May 2017 marks Marroquin’s 20th Anniversary as a Performer
New York, New York (May 8, 2017) – Award-winning Broadway star Bianca Marroquin is back as Roxie Heart in Chicago The Musical from May 1st through July 2, 2017 at The Ambassador Theatre on Broadway.  Marroquin, who first played the role on Broadway in 2002 has now played Hart for well over 5,000 performances. ABOUT Award-winning actress Bianca Marroquin was born in Monterrey, Mexico, and raised on the border between Matamoros, Mexico and Brownsville, Texas. She started her artistic career in Mexico City in the productions of Disney’s Beauty and The Beast,Rent, Phantom of The Opera, Vagina Monologues and Chicago. 
For her portrayal of Roxie Hart in Chicago Bianca received 5 awards from the Mexican CriticsAssociation including New Revelation and Best Actress. In the summer of 2002, Bianca was invited to Broadway and made her debut with her English version of Roxie Hart and later kicked off Chicago’s 3rd National Tour for which she received a HelenHayes Award in Washington DC for OutstandingLead Actress in 2004. After touring for two years she officially moved to New York to continue pursuing her career. She then starred as Carmen in the Revival Broadway hit, Tony Award® Winner, Pajama

You can listen to Bianca on the special edition of the 10th anniversary of Chicago CD performing a medley version of three of Roxie’s songs in Spanish. In April of 2008 The Mexican Consulate in New York awarded Bianca for her successful work as an actress on Broadway. Bianca then premiered her one woman show in Mexico City: Solo Pido (All I ask) in honor of her late mother.
Regional Theatre credits include: And the World Goes round at Barrington Stage Company. Bye Bye Birdie at North Shore Music Theatre, Rose Alvarez for which she won a IRNE Award for Best Actress in a musical. Bianca then portrays the role of Maria Rainer in Mexico City’s hit production of The Sound of Music marking her official return to the Mexican Stages after 6 years. In the summer of 2010 she appeared back on Broadway when she joined the Tony Award® winner company of In the Heights in the role of Daniela.
Television credits include One Life to LiveMira Quien Baila (Univision), Esperanza delCorazon (Televisa) and Pequeños Gigantes (Televisa) among many others.
In musical theatre, Bianca starred as Mary in Disney’s Mary Poppins in Mexico City. She went back to Broadway to her Chicago family playing Roxie Hart and wrapped up the 4th season of Univision’s Mira Quien Baila.
Bianca made her debut album as a singer/songwriter with EL MUNDO ERAMIO. She returned to TV in Mexico once more as a judge in Televisa’s Bailando por un Sueño.
Named one of the 50 most Beautiful People by People en Español (2015 edition) Bianca debuted her new show: BIANCA MARROQUIN EN CONCIERTO in Mexico City.  Right after, she portrayed Anita in Carnegie Hall’s 125 anniversary celebration production of West Side Story. Bianca recently wrapped Pequeños Gigantes for Univision as a Judge beside Prince Royce and Luis Coronel. She now returns once again to her beloved Chicago Family on Broadway.  Her new album of standard ballads called Nuestros Tesoros is being released this month by Warner Music.
