West Hollywood, CA (The Hollywood Times) 2/14/16 – From writers to rappers: this reporter was called upon to switch gears yet again as the 2016 Hollywood awards season raged on.  Rather than cover the 2016 Writers Guild Awards on February 13th as planned, she was asked to co-host the HOLLYWOOD WEEKLYPre-Grammy Party on the very same night at virtually the last minute.

H weekly2There is history to this mystery.  Nothing ever REALLY happens by accident!
HOLLYWOOD WEEKLY was the first place to print LauraWil Intercultural’s pieces when the one-woman consulting company opened for business in May 2009.  LWI owner Laura Wilhelm has collaborated with HW publisher Prather Jackson in many ways over the course of these six years that seem to have passed in seconds.
The latest proposal was for Laura’s husband Chris, who received his PhD from UCLA in 2001, to sponsorHOLLYWOOD WEEKLY’S Pre-Grammy Party at the UCLA Faculty Center.  The facility is conveniently located at 480 Charles E. Young Drive East near the edge of the UCLA campus.
By February 13th Prather Jackson and his able Russian assistant Lucy Alex managed to pull together an all-star Pre-Grammy Party complete with red carpet and refreshments in record time.  The dazzling indoor/outdoor event featured musical stars such as Carmelita, Mary Desmond, Geekazz, Lacy Kay, Lyrikal Lord, Nex2Kin, Shevyn Roberts, Reesi Rocca, April R. Ruffin, Tehrah, and Young Timo.

Multi-talented artist Carmelita commented on her original song “Evil Man” at length, saying that it related to any woman who had ever met an evil man and overcome him with victory.  Carmelita is also the founder of the Rose Breast Cancer Society.  Welcome to The Rose Breast Cancer Society

The international flair of the UCLA Faculty Center with its high wood-beamed ceilings and brass chandeliers was enhanced by contestants from the Miss Asia Pacific pageant and other distinguished global guests.  “The pot has melted!” audience members were heard to remark.
A dance floor and hair styling station livened up the Pre-Grammy Party taking place from 4 to 9 p.m.  Representatives from Benev were on hand to discuss cutting edge anti-aging treatments designed to replace fat, oil, and water in older skin.
Now that the Wilhelms are members of the UCLA Faculty Center thanks to HOLLYWOOD WEEKLY, they hope to co-host all sorts of similar events that are both entertaining and informative.  The Faculty Center comes fully equipped with parking, catering, rest rooms, and other amenities.  Pitch your plan to US at any time!
