Pacific Design Center, West Hollywood, CA (The Hollywood Times) 4/14/15 – It is all about family, anyway… because where else one can see a family drama starred by someone coming from a big celebrity family? Yes, we are talking about Quincy Brown, a young talented actor whose mother Kim Porter (Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ girlfriend and mother of his children) stepped on the Red Carpet to support him as he starred as Chris in Queen Latifah’s new movie Brotherly Love. As Kim mentioned in the exclusive interview to THT: “It’s amazing to be a mom. I am so proud of him and he does such an amazing job!” This s not Quincy’s first movie as he is starring in Dope (2015) as well. That night he looked happy and confident supported by his mother, step dad Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs who hosted the event, and other guests attending the movie premier. Famous actor and singer Jamie Foxx and actor Andy Garcia were noticed on Red Carpet as well.
THT and actor Ian Verdun (Grey’s Anatomy) discussed the impact the movie is supposed to make on community: “What brought me here tonight is the support of my brothers. Every time a diverse artist making a diverse work and putting it out there makes an amazing impact on people that are watching it. He pretty much runs our society at a particular point of time. All these shows and movies proved that this “brown” community is your community, your neighbors, your brothers and sisters; this is the world we live in and this is America we live in”.
THT also noticed the Brotherly Love actors who appeared at Red Carpet to support the screening. KeKe Palmer, Cory Hardrict, Nafessa Williams, and Eric D. Hill, Jr stepped out to talk to the press. Actress Nafessa Williams revealed some information we have to know about her character Simone and about the movie itself: “I play Simone, she is very funny, confident; she knows exactly where she is going. You also should know that it’s gonna be a very authentic Philadelphia movie. That’s one thing you can expect. Working along with KeKe Palmer and Cory Hardrict .. they are “vets”, so I was learning a lot. We just had a lot of fun working with each other”.
Brotherly Love tells a family story of three teenagers. The nation’s number one high school basketball player Sergio Taylor (Eric D. Hill Jr) struggles a lot as he deals with the pressure while his sister Jackie (KeKe Palmer) faces challenges as she makes plans to become a popular musician. She has a boyfriend Chris (Quincy Brown), and their relationship is far from being perfect. Not to mention, her brother June (Cory Hardrict) has to hold on his dreams in order to support the family financially after the father’s death. A lot of drama going on but it is all about family and love, anyway.
